Scottsboro man facing multiple drug charges after police respond to call for service

A Scottsboro man is facing drug charges.

According to the Scottsboro Police Department, about 3:09 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call for service in the 1500 block of South Broad Street.

When officers arrived, they made contact with a man who was later identified as 35-year-old Michael Dewayne Cherry.

Police say officers found 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 4.3 grams of marijuana, and one glass pipe used to ingest illicit drugs during an investigation. 

As a result, Cherry was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.

Cherry was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
