Decatur man faces multiple drug charges after police find meth, fentanyl mixture, pills, more

A Decatur man is facing multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop.聽

According to the Priceville Police Department, 41-year-old Denny Spears is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for multiple traffic violations, including driving with a revoked license.

This comes after, about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 67 near Interstate 65 for improper lights and a license plate violation.

After making contact with the driver, police say probable cause to search the vehicle was established.

A quantity of methamphetamine/fentanyl mixture, marijuana, Xanax pills, and drug paraphernalia was discovered. A firearm was also seized.

As a result, Spears was arrested and booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $60,600 bond.

A Morgan County circuit judge also placed a temporary hold on Spears to review a bond Spears was currently out on for a prior drug distribution charge.
